Since we were talking about Trail Pros....let's go one step further in tires....

Both of my 200x's have 22" tires on them, the 85 has Kenda Dominators, and the 86 has Carlisle Strykers....I have 2 pair of gold Douglas 250R wheels on the way that I am considering putting 20" on. How much different will the bike act and ride? Both pick are stock jetted and the 86 has a DG exhaust and the 85 has a Cobra exhaust. I have to double check but I think they are both 12T front sprokets. Anyhow, I was thinking of ordering the OEM tire from Honda Parts direct for an 86 250R since they are like $44 ea. What is the best tire to go to for these trikes. Shoud I put a set of 18's one one pair of wheels and 20's on the other set so I can have a chould or will 20's be a good enough all around performer. What are some other good choices for tires for good all around middle TN riding, not sand, some mud and plenty or terrain. Should a just go for a shorter set of Dominators?

The soap box is now open....and if anyone has any pics. please post them up with shorter tires.

Solution to hitting rocks, rutts etc.. and adding width, 1984 200x axle, 1.5'' extended hubs and a 35t sprocket.

i like 18's for simple trail riding and hardpack, its insanely stable and hooks up great. I like the looks alot better than with bigger tires also. With 22's it just dosent have the feel that the smaller tires give. Its hard to explain.

14/35, bringing it right back to stock as it would be with 22's.

and the 86 has Carlisle Strykers....

Those tires must be killing that poor lil 200... I mounted up a set on my quadracer and used them for one ride... The difference in performance compared to other 22's is rediculous... Hillclimbs that I could pull in 2nd gear with ease before required using 1st gear and alot of clutching to make with strykers... I especially noticed the weight when trying to load the bike in to the pick-up... and thats even after cutting a bunch of knobs off trying to make them lighter..

Shoud I put a set of 18's one one pair of wheels and 20's on the other set so I can have a chould or will 20's be a good enough all around performer.

IMO 20's are great all around performers... It takes a really nasty trail to require 22's... I would rather have to lift the bike over an obsticle on occasion than deal with 22's through every corner and on every side-hill... And as an added bonus smaller tires look much more "racey" IMO...

i would go with the stock honda tires, i had them on my old 200x and they worker awsome! so much better then the 22's that were on it.

i am going with 18's my self but i dont ride any nasty trails...
