My 87 cr500 in my 250r frame was a bit worn. it only had 110 psi and vibrated a bit. This is my 1st cr500 rebuild but i have rebuild several 250r's and a kxt or two.

I have a new OEM crank, OEM crank and tranny bearings, OEM crank seals, and a moose gasket / seal kit.

so far i have found the old rod rubbing the crank half and the Right and Left shift forks swapped.

the case has been cleaned and painted gun metal grey with two coats of clear. it is dupont paint and not a rattle can job :)

well i stopped for lunch ;D

right case with all new OEM bearings pressed in. the frozen bearing really do press in easily.

here is the tranny in place. One trick is to use vasoline to coat the little washers on the end. it will keep them in place while installing the tranny.

I applied a little heat with a propane torch to the inner race on the crank bearings and then the frozen crank dropped right in.

here is where i stopped for lunch. the bottom will be complete in a couple hours 8-)

Nice work! I really like that color. Need some anodized bolts now to really set it off

Like the engine, and the color of the grass. Wish it was green here! Yep, freezing bearings and warming of the cases. Push them in with your thumbs nearly every time. Nice job.
