Couple months back, I took this carb apart because the trike wasnt running. Cleaned all the jets. Sprayed everything i could. When i put it on it still wouldnt go. I shot some starting fluid in the back and it screamed to life. SCREAMED lol. With the choke closed it just screams like hell, with it open it screams like hell. Nothing effected this piece of crap. It ran but it screamed. So i kept thinking i missed something in the carb. It must have been off and on 5 times. Today i was bored so decided to tinker with it again. I was taking off the carb and happen to glance up. WTF there is a big hole on the head, by the fins. Its not broke i think it just corroded away. I put some silly putty of all things lol on the hole and it fired up with 3 pulls and idled fine for 5 minutes. Give it gas and it goes like normal.. So my question is will JB Weld stay hard and keep this patched up even when the motor gets good and hot? I'm not sure what else i could use besides JB Weld. I'll take a pic here in a few so you guys can see this hole.

Do a search - but that is not a hole - that is the way it is made - and that comes from the way the fins are "cored" in the casting process.

LOL - I hear ya - maybe it just needed some time to think about it. I searched and searched - I know there is a thread about that hole in the casting though - just can not find it.

Here is a picture, if its supposed to be there it looks awfully corroded now. Water and dirt would get in there and ruin the motor i would think. I took the putty back off took the pic then tried starting it, screamed like hell again lol.

That is supposed to be there - that is just the way it is made. that cavity does not go into the internals of the engine.
