mini quad cdi question

I just rebuilt my sons Alpha Sports 50 (smae as kasea 50,scrambler 50,eton50)..since it needed rebuilt I went ahead and bumped it up to 70cc with a kit.it runs great....

I also bought an unlimited rev cdi... the unlimited cdi has the exact same wiring as the stock cdi, right down to the colors of the wire....but when I plug it in the quad wont start....now I've read that I may have to make some other modifications to the wiring to get it to work....does anyone have any experience with these..could anyone at least tell me where to look to find out...I'm not having much luck finding a forum or site with any info. Thanks

On the aftermarket cdi boxes there is a possibility that out of the box, the unit doesn't work. I am researching them now for my 400ex and have read that about some of them. I just did a google search on the ones I have been interested in and it brought up different forums about them.

Try hooking a battery charger on while cranking it. Buddy of mine had a aftermarket cdi on his predator. It would just die then not refire for awhile he found out aftermarket cdi's are very touchy when it comes to the battery beign in perfect shape.
