i was running this crank when i first bought it, but i thought the welded pin meant i couldnt put a new rod on it......i was wrong! it ran just as smooth as it does with the counterbalancer!

its not an aftermarket part. you cansee where it has been welded and filled and ground, there are a few imperfections here and there.

PR RACING thinks they may have put this one together at one point.

not really wierd part, but it was a topic starter!

are head studs pressed in?

i dont really understand ow over time they dont work themselves out of the head?

they are threaded in you have to use a nut with another one over top of it so the top one locks on the bottom and then tighten the top one until they are tight then u back off both nuts and you get a tight head stud, reverse this process to get them out. i have seen some pressed but i dont know if it was oem.

I showed the Mrs. what I had got accomplished in the garage today and she wants 50 of them in size seven. She seems to think they would be perfect for her "small" shoe collection :).
She will REALLY like it when I get a piano hinge, snap clasp and weather stripping for it tomorrow.

Thanks for the compliments guys but looks like my spare time and alu will be spoken for by the boss.

i see that you got the aluminum welding working for ya. I say we start producing grab bars :) i get plenty of hollow 1" aluminum tube from sam winers and im sure i can get some flat plate or some flat stock pretty cheap too. :D
