View Full Version : 86250R-what CR headgasket do you use?
Anybody know off the top of their heads? Can you still run premium pump or do you need race fuel?

I read that anything over 180psi should have some kind of race gas. The 1989 CR250R head gasket is the one that fits the 85-86 250R.

For the Liquids R's, the stock compression ratio was 8.0:1, and the stock psi was 177-199psi. Honda recomended leaded gasoline R.O.N. 92-100. So "off the top of my head" I would think youd be o.k. on premium, unless you have greater psi, advanced timing, or excessive heat.

O-ring your head, and forget about the gasket, it will last longer.:beer

Here is the proper honda part number
12254-KZ3-000
1989-91 cr 250 gasket, one piece metal. I always use a bit of copperkote on them to help seal a bit better. I would use this one before I fooled with the mid 80's ones which were a 3 piece design.
