Well the roads are clear up here and the snow is mostly rock hard with soft spots so not much riding to be done without loading up and heading to the mountains, yet there is too much snow to ride the trike safely, soft spot + front tire = handle bar imprints in your back
I was thinking about this last night ( :beer ) so I popped the front wheel off the 185s, took a few measurements and cobbled this together at lunch time today. Did a test run around the yard and it works awesome, it even steers good with no runner on the bottom of the ski. I'll finish the fork mounts tomorrow then I'll be set for the long weekend. :w00t:

I may gusset the flat bar and square tube but I think the front forks will be strong enough on their own, I'll sleep on it and see what happens tomorrow.
As an extra bonus I now have front suspension! If all works out well I'll probabally make one for my 200s aswell but then I'll have to figure out a way to bolt it to the shocks without damaging them.

That ski conversion is pretty cool. Is it just welded solid? I actually thought about doing this on a hardtail trike before, but with a shock so it wont be flying everywhere and take the bumps better. Didnt ride much this winter though, every winter consists of ripping apart my rides, cleaning, painting and fixing anything broken.

It will be solid with the forks but pivots on top of the spring. I used two pieces of 3/16" flat bar, one on each side of the spring perch which limit how much the ski can move to point up or down. I may use the ski shock yet, need to take it for a longer ride first, didnt bounce much goin around the yard in second gear.

Well I got it finished and had time to play with it last weekend, it works way better than a tire in the snow, turns like nothing and romps through the holes and soft spots no problem, till you slow down and the rear tires sink lol here some pics of how it all works and attaches if anyone wants to build their own.
