what i like to do, is get the rear end sliding around dirt corners, wrapping it out in the fields, popping wheelies, and telling people, "yeah i got a 3 wheeler, what you got"

i love 200x's i have an 85 that i poored all my money into when i was like 15-16. but i found myself beating the piss out of it as i had gotten used to the power and so i found my self rebuilding the motor a few times. until one time oi blew it and just got fed up and its been sitting in my shed for 2 years now in pieces... need a motor for it and ill put it back together

man i used to beat mine so bad, cracker the header pipe jumping a snow banking, had the valve cover/head pretty much fall off. blew it up a few times.

but the best thing that ever happend with it.... i let a budy of mine ride it in the trails behind his house, i was on his quad, we come to what looked to be a small water crossing with a "lip" at the front of it, he hits the lip 3 gear flat out, hit the "water" and the bike was lost lol, nothing but the bars and his upper body. After 10 mins of pulling him out of the mud we rode back to his house got his truck hooked it to the bars and almost ripped the bars off trying to pull it, so i dug out the seat and grab bar and hooked the chain up, it took a few good tugs with his ranger, but she finally came out. loaded her in the truck took her back to his house cleaner her up drained everything fresh gas and oil and off we went.

thats my 200x storie:beer

I rode with several buddies that had 200X's back in the day, but didn't own a 200X till 2001 and '02 myself.

I guess my most memorable story of an 200X I owned would be the first ride on my '84 that I had just spent some money on(new plastic, new seat cover, new tires, fresh topend(12:1 Wiseco/fresh head work), and new Cobra exhaust), but had to ride 2 days before my grab bar came in.

I unloaded and headed straight for the gravel pit. 200 yards from the truck and 2 minutes into the ride, I wheelied off a 3-foot drop off and promptly found myself on my back kicking the wheeler back off of me. My rear fenders got their first scar, scratched my sweet reproduction sticker on the rear fender, and tweaked the aluminum exhaust enough to open it up right at the muffler mount.

All was fixed and my grab bar finally installed, but I wished I had waited a couple more days to ride.

Dont really have many since I dont wreck that much! lol
First thing that scared the hell out of me was when I was riding with some friends at a huge wood chip pile climbing it and hitting the step up. I didnt know how fast or what gear to hit it in so I ran up to it in 3rd gear and quickly shifted into 2nd as soon as I hit the bottom of the hill, it was spinning and revved out pretty good. Next thing I know is im staring at the sky falling backwards straight down which seemed like forever. Once I hit about half way I look up and my trike is partially dug down into the pile and its slowly tipping backwards. It didnt tip but I thought I was going to the hospital lol. Reason it stopped was because the sprocket bolts came loose and were grinding up against the carrier.

Being that the 86' 200X is my all time favorite trike in my collection, I really dig this thread. Those trikes are so much fun to ride due to their handling and light weight combined with the amount of power they have. No other trike that I own can do it all like the 86' 200X. My best story comes from way back when I was a little tike and dad had a brand new 86' 200X. My family was camping and I had asked dad if I could ride it. He said "If you can start it, then you can ride it.") To his surprise, I got that thing fired up and took it for a spin, I can still picture that short ride in my mind. At that same time period I also had two uncles, one with an 86 200X and the other with an 87!!! I guess all that history lends to my favor of this trike!

Heres some vintage pics when those bikes were damn near brand new. The one pic is me taking some wheelie notes from dad, enjoy!

when i first got my 85 200x it was a roller with a box of parts. i had someone rebuild to motor for me for 200 bucks and another guy put it in sence i wasnt familar with 4 strokes or the machine at that particular time. well i got it all together and took it out for its first ride. i headed out for the sand pits which were about 4 miles from my house. now in order to get into the pits from the train tracks you have to go up a pretty steep incline. i hadent been out there in a long time and i thought nothing of not being able to see the other side. so i put it in first and shifted into second as i full throttled it up the steep hill. and when i got to the top i looked down ... and saw that the whole back side of the hill was gone there was nothing but a 10ft drop straight down. i remember thinking o *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* here we go. there was know way i could stop the momentum, so i was goin over. i landed verticle standing straight up on my front tire with the front forks violently deppressed and my chest squished up on the handlebars i had almost *Edited**Edited**Edited**Edited* my self but some how by the grace of god the backend started to fall back and i was able to ride it out with no damadge to the trike and nothing more then a small bruse on my chest.
