intake boot for the R's

i have heard the intake boots are the same from 81-86 for the R's.
is it true, or am i misinformed?

Not the same but all will bolt up and work fine! I used an 86 250r boot on my 82 and the only problem I had is it rubbed the motor case slightly but not to big of a deal.

81'-89' are all the same bolt pattern, the angle as far far as where the carb will end up being is different. You can also run 86-89 reeds but most will require reed spacers.
