Here is what is happening, when I have it full out it struggles and seems like there is a lack of fuel. This is at top end. Now the weird thing that is happening is that sometimes it works fine and five minutes later it starts this problem again. It is a 1984 honda 200s in great condition.

I have a new properly gapped plug
cleaned the carb
lots of fuel in the tank with a clean petcock
put new gas lines and fuel filter on.
Could this be a cdi problem
When I baught it the guy said the cdi is bad and it wont run, well it runs and starts without a problem so I dont know if I trust his cdi diagnoses.

the thing I dont get is it works for five minutes/ ten minutes and then it doesnt work.

Hope you can help

My 200 has a similar problem, I'm thinking its not getting good enough spark, and its choking itself out at WOT. Check your connections.

I had a 250SX with an intermittent lack of power problem and it was a broken wire at the CDI. BUT, you could hear it spudder and feel the fuel wasn't there or wasn't igniting. I honestly looked to the carb 3 or 4 times before I began untapping electrical connections.

Is it breaking up up just bogging down? Bogging down sounds like fuel. Is the cap venting, is the petcock clean. If you pull off the hose and open up the petcock, can it fill a quart bottle without any hesitation? check it out..........

I think I have found some of the problem. I think it may be the wiring. I am loosing spark at times.
