I am thinking about taking my 200x to the sand dunes. Will the 200x with sand tires pull me around very well? How did your guy's x's perform in the dunes?
From what i have read it can be done.Big dunes will be a problem.

ive taken mine to the sand dunes with both paddle tires & with knobbies.
with the paddles, i never got stuck but went pretty darn slow.
with the knobbies i went a good chunk faster but got stuck every now & then.

run a 20' sand tire and re-gear and you will be fine:beer

It should do ok. In the summers when the river is low we ride down it and get up on the super soft sand banks and play around. I usually take my 125 with paddles on it and it gets around good through 3rd gear. 4th can be used out in the river on the flat wet sand and sometimes even 5th but needless to say it does well for a 125. I have a 45 tooth sprocket on the rear (stock was 48) and it will run 60 mph on flat ground which may even be faster then a 200X. If the 125 will get around fine and climb up and around on the sand banks I don't see why a 200x wouldn't in the sand dunes. The whole key is speed. Once you get it don't ever stop.
