I have been asking ScottZJ a couple of questions online about my new to me Honda Big Red. He asked me to post a few pictures of my 3 wheeler. So here they are.

I had a Yamaha 125 3 wheeler when I was a kid in the late 70s or early 80s. I have never owned a Honda until I bought this one. So any help would be appreciated. I bought this 3 wheeler for my 2 sons and I to have a project to do together.

So far, I installed a new battery, rebuilt the starter, new coil, new seat cover, new seat foam, new spark plug, new oil filter, new oil and new rear end oil. It now cranks up and drives just like a new one.

I steamed cleaned most of the blue paint off except, the blue did not come off of the metal gas tank.

I think I need new brake pads, my rear lights do not work and it does not shut off by the emercancy kill switch or the key.

Thanks for looking and giving me any comments (good or bad). :beer

Welcome to the world of 3 wheelers! You have some work on your hands but its nothing I havent done before and looks alot better than I have started with. Personally if you have some extra change, I would look into finding a new complete wiring harness. This might be easier than trying to trace the electrical issues you are having. They usually go for around 15-20 and worth it, IMHO.

Thanks guys for the comments.

I am bidding on a 1986 Honda 250es wiring harness on eBay. I assume the 1986 and 1985 wiring harness are the same?

Also, what where the original tires for the 1985? I think the 3 wheeler might have the original ones on it but, they are about bald.

yours is a rolls royce compared to mine.... i have an 87 250es, it looked a lot better when i got it ...my bike is proof of how tough they r, i ride hard crash hard bend the frame back with a hammer hard... its not hard to get it going pretty straight with a few come-alongs and so long as it goes straight im happy :D i always like to use premium petrol with shop bought octane booster, it makes a hell of a differnce n will get up to top speed almost twice as quick, and i found having a very free flowing exhaust helps too, after i bent and snapped mine it goes much better now that half the exhaust gets out early... even with all the abuse tho my trike always starts first kick, and always goes hard, ive had to clean the craby out once and thats about all the work ive done.. if only we had more parts here in australia, enjoy the pics..... dont laugh too much... could be your trike after a few consecutive rolls :P
