Well I was looking at thumpers but I have always wanted a mid-late 80's CR250 and I found one on craigslist last night! Looked at it today and took it home for $700. It has a great sounding engine, PSI exhaust system and not a single crack in any of the plastic. Fork seal were just done too. It needs a new chain and sprocket set and some fork boots......... that's it!
Before trikes I was on bikes so this will be one fun ride! Plus it barely takes up trailer space...... :beer

Great find! You will find that the Showa front forks may be a little soft. Don't change the springs unless you are a pro or a big guy, just raise the fork oil level and you will see the bike turn in corners or handle big jumps without wrist fractures. Those late 80's pingers are super fun and I love that powerband! Congrats on the buy and let us know how it does at the track.

Hey thanks guys. It's going to be a fun bike to have around.
ATCGENIUS, funny you mentioned the oil, that was the first thing I did.... ;) Not much of a ramp tramp anymore but I'll make one hell of a tree banger out of it.

Hey man, pingers are fun, I still see more two strokes in the woods riding around here than I do four hehe. Does the psi pipe do pretty good? Anyway enjoy the cr! Oh btw, I've heard you should use wd40 in those on the air filters right? :beer

LOL, I use WD-40 for the air filter, the chain and the pre-mix! :w00t:
That PSI pipe is pretty sweet, for an 88 this thing is packing a punch. I'll need some real seat time for a good evaluation but when I do I'll be sure to update.

I need a gold wheel for my 87 CR 125, which is what yours is, a 87 wheel.
Are you ever going to get a silver one again and sell the gold one? If so, what shape is the gold in ? Looks like there is some gold missing at 6:00 ?
Footpeg advice here, TRASH those skinny jobs and get wider ones, I have these 96 CR pegs that would mount right on, $27 including shipping. :beer

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v253/huffa/pegs.jpgThe wheel is almost perfect! The blem you see is dirt. I saw that in the pic right after I posted it and checked on it myself. I have absolutly no desire to get rid of it but thanks for the offer.
