A buddie of mine is selling an '86 TRX 250R for $2,500 and he's rebuilding the entire motor. He had the crank re-done with new crank and rod bearings and new piston and top end with some mild porting. I go over to the crank and feel it and there's a ton of side-to-side play in the rod bearing (lower one on the crank), I would go as far as to say 1/16-1/8 in. I didn't check and up and down play. I asked the guy about this and he said his machine guy told him it's just fine and that's normal for 250R's. This didn't seem right to me at all but you never know, so that's why I asked the question...

no its not right, I don't have my manaul right here, but the play isn't too much. 1/8 of a inch is defenetly too much.

Ok thanks guys, it has no up and down paly in it at all I checked. The play isn't as bad as I remember but At least 1/32 of an In. maybe as much as 1/16th.
