IMS tank PROBLEM...HELP 83 250r PICS ADDED

I just got my new 83 250r tank. It has a big ass hole for the petcock. It says to un-bolt the old one and use it??? The old one is welded to the dang tank! Has anyone installed one of these before? The fit is awesome and it is a 4.2 but I need to be able to hook it up. Thanks!!:confused:

The stock 83R tank is welded on?? You must mean just the threads for the petcock.

Most of the after market tanks come with a piece of billet aluminum that has threads on it for your petcock to thread onto. You might be missing that peice or it should have been bought with it.

Shoot IMS an email, I love my IMS 350X tank - better than Clarke...........

Yea, jus the threads are welded on. Not the whole tank. It looks great. But I need to find out how to install the petcock threads. I'll call them and see about the insert. They should have told me I needed it or sent it with it.

Even their Website says "uses stock petcock", nothing about an adapter...

EDIT - Thats odd, It almost looks like they want you to thread the dam thing into the hole, lol...

I sent them an email about it. Maybe I can use another Honder one??
