Hi,
I have a 86 tecate with 14T front sprocket and 37T rear sprocket.
I am planning to change my rear sprocket but 37T is not available I can only buy a 38T or 36 T.
I am using stock tecate tires.
What do you think is the best option ?
I am riding in a limited space so fast acceleration would be great.
Thanks for your help.

The 38T would give faster acceleration than the 36T. But, honestly, neither one will be a significant change from stock gearing.

Thanks for your answer. Normally stock gearing on a 86 tecate is 13T front and 37T at the rear. On ebay there are only 38T or 36T to sell and no single 37T. That's why I posted this message. You guys in the US you got lucky to have online parts shop but they don't ship to Europe or if they do the price is very high.

Hi,
According to the service repair manual of the tecate (last page of the manual) 37T at the rear is the standard for the 86 tecate. I was sure I had the standard front and rear but my front is 14T and not 13T. I don't know if the previous owner of the tecate changed the stock front sprocket or if it was sold with stock 14T in Europe. Anyway my rear sprocket is the stock one (37T) but I need a new one.
