I'm just trying to make sure that the upwards bends are AFTER the clamps.

This is on my 350X, 250R is probably similar.

Too many bars don't fit our ATC upper tripple bar clamps without half of the bend being in the clamping area.

I can't even find a chart online.....

Where are you ordering your bars from? Dennis Kirk? The paper catalog has the bend numbers.

I've noticed that CR Hi and other comparable bars have a super-wide bar mount area, but the ATV Hi's are probably pretty narrow. How wide are the clamps on your 350X?

ATV high is damn near 400ex bend if I remember right.

I love em, and I know alota other people do to. I wouldnt run another type on my 3wheeler, I tried CR Mid bend it felt like I was a hunchback leaning so far forward at a awkward angle for so long.

All in all, do it!

i run the Pro Taper ATv Highs, great feel. Probably put them on my 350x too. Go on ebay, they have all sorts of bars, clamps, grip combos for around $60.

I also believe the ATV Highs have the largest sweep of the bars. The Ebay auctions have alot of the dimension info and diagrams

Those ones that Honda250SX is showing you do not require oversize clamps due to them being the standard 7/8" diameter.

As far as DK goes, they don't carry ProTaper per se, but they have Tag bars, which are the same exact product. They also have Renthal FatBars which are again, identical.

I bought some cheap atv high bars for the T3 because i didn't care for the feeling that the front was lower. I'm not sold on the appearance but they feel great when sitting on it. They also cleared the stock mounts without issue, but i can't say much for anything else...

Man, that SX looks nice! I think you should swap the SX and Z bar setups... the oversize bars would look nicer and help out with armpump when you're riding hard.

I have a set of CR Hi bend 'Tapers on my YZ80... not really helpful but you gotta remember the oversize clamps add another half-inch of rise. Not a lot but it will affect ergos if you're really picky.

I have the ProTaper Contour ATV High bars on my 250R with the adapter clamps. I was worried about them fitting before I bought them and emailed ProTaper and the guy responded that there should not be any issue, so I bought them and just rode it saturday with them on. I like them alot better than the 7/8's Rentral ATV Racer bend bars I had on before.

i posted a similar question a couple of weeks ago and really did not get an answer. what is the difference in the Pro Taper with/w/o the cross bar?

RedRider_AK

The ProTapers are fatter near the clamp mounts and then taper down to normal size at the grip area. They also have different wall thickness in different areas. This makes them lighter and stronger than steel bars and lets them do away with the crossbar. I have also seen ProTapers with cross-bars, but I guess those are for the really paranoid people (or Gorilla Monsoons...).

Mine were previously bent when they were on a 110, and they even have the cross bar.

to clear up the pro taper myth

Pro taper... is the premium fat bar made by the Easton company here in the USA

Pro taper Contour... budget 1 1/8 econo bar made in china

Pro Taper SE..... SE meaning seven eighths, they have the crossbar.

Thank you, that does help.....

I still need the bar chart for part # TR_027979

DK charts are useless because they aren't the same brand bar.....

Hey, thanks to BOTH of you guys... I just pray it clears the clamp width.

TR was out of the adapters, I need a set. You guys seen them anywhere cheap or without paying 10$ to ship them?? I assume I can use ANY brand adapter....

Thanks again....

Just found this post and thought i would add something. I am running the TAG XT1bars on my Tri-Z. They are 1 1/8" bars that still have the crossbar on them, CR Hi bend. I used Fat Bar clamps made for a CR125 that bolted right to the tri-z tripple clamp. VERY TRICK!:naughty: However, like said previously, the clamps are ALMOST in the bends of the bars. See for yourself:pics:

New Protaper ATV highs, ASV C5 shorty levers, Renthal dual compound grips. I rode 80 miles of trails yesterday and the stiffer bars offer better control and less vibration than stock. Not too sure about the grips yet. They are definitely sticky but not very soft. I have some serious blisters on my hands after that long ride. The ASV levers are rock solid and seem to make the clutch and brake easier to use and more effective, but it could just be the fact that they look cool as hell making me think that way!
