So i bought a 1983 250r, seems to be in really good condition (stock plastics with no rips, everything works except the brake light).... starts on the first kick.

I do have some questions though,

visibly i found "bills exhaust" system (both pipe and silencer).... and a KnN filter with no air filter top cover.....

i am wondering if it has any engine work done to it, how can i tell?

Also any techniques i should know to keep the rubber side down? (i own dirt bieks and quads but i know these bikes are different).....

lastly are the tires on it for sand? or dirt? i have no idea.

thanks in advance!

They somewhat resemble snow tires actually , the rears. The fronts are dirt tires, looking like oems.

here's the biggest tip for keeping a trike from flipping.

if the rear end isn't sliding, you aren't turning. If you break those rear tires aloose in a turn, it's gonna be damned hard to flip.

also...lean into EVERYTHING.

those tires are similar to the goodyear terra tire, the way you got is good for mud and backwards for sand or loamy terrien, but there heavy and will for sure hurt your bikes performance, pic up some stock dunlops off a 450R or some holeshots and it will work alot better, the goat is right, keep that back end loose and power slide it. AS for mods you wont realy know unless you take it apart. That bills pipe setup is a good one, dont change it, you can go to a larger carb like a stock one off the 85-86 250R uni filter, im sure if you have other machines you should know the drill.
