Well, I bought a 400ex a while ago, didnt like it so i sold it to my parents. Now i got x amount of $$ lef to spend on a bike. i found 3 i like, ones a mint dondition 1992 kx250f, 1992(?) rm250 and a 2001 yz125. Ive rode ocasionally on a smaller 125 4 stroke and im just wondering what would best suit me. Im fairly large for my age, 6'1" and round 200 pounds and all three bikes cost roughly the same price. also, pros and cons of each bikes would be nice, Thanks.

If I was going to get a 250 4 stroke it would definitely be one of the newer model bikes. The RM250 would definitely move and have more power throughout the rpm range, while the yz125 would probably seem to lack on the bottom but would pull hard when the powerband kicks in.

Out of those bikes, if I were you, I'd go for the RM250.
It will be the fastest, largest, and probably the most fun.
The 4 stroke 250's just don't do it for me, and the YZ125 would probably be a little small for you and lack on the low end like travis712 said.
Parts are still everywhere for them and rebuilds are cheap.

Yep, the RM. In proper tune they're powerhouses.

The YZ won't disappoint powerwise, and might be a little better for tighter areas like a woods trail. The only time I have a noticeable low end bog with mine would be, say, coming up out of a ditch in too high a gear or too low an RPM.

Although, the 250 would have more usable power on a more open trail. I went trail riding up near Detroit Lakes last summer, and I was wishing I had a broader torque curve.
