well i got the new top end on and the whole water pump assembley in... and the only way i get her running when she cold is to spray engine starter in her...she seams to be flodding out when she sits...once she running and warmed up.. she starts right up...its a stock carb,reeds....what else could it be the float? i lost the little spring that holds on the float. would the be it?it was doing this before i did the rebuild so i thought it was a compression thing....well let me know and thx...

do you have a shutoff valve from the tank, if so when you let it sit do you turn it off? you might start with that. maybe take the carb off and clean it again

You need to go through the carb and get a new spring. If you have to spray starting fluid in to get it to fire up, you aren't getting enough fuel.

an easy way to tell if its the needle and seat/ floats is to tip the carb upside down and blow in the fuel line you shouldnt be able to blow in it..then right side up you should be able to blow through it easily
