86 350x case markings?

Do these markings mean anything to anyone? This is an 86 350x with a 2/86 build date. I took the engine guard off the other day and saw these markings? :wondering

Replaced cases? original factory marks?

Let me know if yours has the same thing....

They look like a parts yard marking. A fellow triker bought a one ownder 350x that was very clean and it had no marks on the cases. I would say the motor was at parts yard or someone bought the casese from one

those are factory marks i bought a new old stock engine and it had the same marks just different numbers

Every crate motor I have or had has marks there and on the valve cover...

i have the same kind of numbers under my engine as well. When i took the motor out the other day, i noticed them and was wondering where or why they were there...:wondering

like i said they all had the markings from new.........its just a question of how many still have the marks.

it has nothing to do with being a crate motor....or from a junk yard, altho they do there own marking sometimes
