Is there alot of difference between the 85' and 86' Honda 350x. I know there were some on the Triz's.
Thanks

There are a few. Several in the engine (nothing major except the stator) and several on the swingarm and the way the cluch clable is ran.
If you do a search you will find EVERY thing thats diffrent

for 86 honda changed the right main case (acording to dirtwheels)

something about having a better oil pickup design ......but its no big deal if you keep the oil topped off

The machine's both have 6 speed trannies like swingin said. The '85 had a creeper gear and the '86 had an overdrive gear, lol. There is better than 50 different thing's from the 2 year's..

all the gears in the tranny have differnt part numbers...

for example, the 85 part number

03 GEAR (44T)
23411-HA5-670 (replaces 23411-HA5-000)

and the 86 part number
03 GEAR (44T)
23411-HA5-670

i dont know what gear, or why they changed the last 3 digits. What does that mean when they update the last 3 numbers only?

pricing is the same though.

Well I have four 85 Tri-z's and they are all 5 speed but the 86' is said to be 6 speed. I was thinking of getting a 350x and was trying to get a little info on the two years before I made the purchase.
Thanks
