On my 86 atc250r I put a brand new electrical system on it including: stator, wiring harness, regulator, coil, cdi box. everything is new and from the 88-89 trx250r but im not gettin any spark! So before i baught a new honda cdi box for the 88-89 250r I tried a 350x cdi and I get spark just at all the wrong times. But when I trie to put any of the 3 250r cdis on it creates no spark! Any ideas? I do not have an on off switch yet for it but on my blaster I tokk it off an it still worked. Let me know what you guys think! Thanks!!!
if you can come out my way,I may be able to help this weekend.

HUMMMM ... i just sold a wire harness COMPLETE for the "85" ATC for 35 bucs.. the guy had a 1986 TRX that stopped... he installed the Brain Box and it RUNS now
Check out Moshman ... he has knowledge and spare parts...
did you check the Pulser Generater , Has the Harness Wireing been messed with, all the ground wires bolted on tight, the Flywheel Key OK ?

wow that really blows.do you have a service manual?I would start checking stuff according to that .it's probably something stupid.double check your kill switch make sure its not making ground at the wrong time.

I dont have a kill switch or the keyed ingnition but I have ran plenty of bike without them before! I just got another brand new cdi box and its not doing squat either. I'm pulling my hair out here!

ronnie was refering to the keyway on your crank that holds the flywheel so it doesnt spin freely on the crank.

I know what he meant and it looks to be fine and not sheared off. it ranquite well before I blew my head gasket and needed my head rechambered. I'm just saying since I have the 88-89 trx250r wiring harness it had a keyed ignition and I dont have it. I really dont know what to do and honestly dont feel like spending $65 an hour plus labor for my dealer to look at it!
