Just got the 500 back together, took it for a test ride and it quit, in an unfriendly way. So no 500 for TF :(

Man, sorry - very sorry to hear that Billy. Must have lost the top or bottom end? I'm no way near out of the woods either.....

It was a crapshoot anyway... I just expected it to last a little longer I put a topend together I had laying around here that had a cracked sleeve in the bridge of the exhaust port, and put a new piston kit in it (Didn't bore it, didn't have enough time. Ended up with about .005 clearance, which wasn't good but was tolerable I thought. I figured the exhaust port was to wide, but I beveled and chamfered the edges really good and thought it would be good, evidently not.

Aint that the truth. I overheated it at the last FT race a few weekends ago, determined it was to too small of exhaust pipe stinger tube diameter. I ordered larger tube, bent that up, welded it in, modded the silencer to fit and use it, all that crap. Dug around and did the work I needed to fit this old other cylinder on there, ordered gaskets, had to mod my FRAME to fit the quick change clutch cover be cause my old one was cracked to bad from the brake pedal hitting it, on and on and on and on and now its dead. Damn thing.

Until just a few minutes ago only one of the four machines that we are bringing was ready and in one piece . I just finished converting the ct 70 to manual clutch. Now if all of the parts get here in time to get the 300r and 250r back together it will be a freaking miracle.

Man, you guys are starting to worry me now. I'm going to show up with 3 machines that will probably be finished just hours before I leave. Oh well, I at least hope my R holds up long enough for the MX.

:-( that sucks billy. Just loose the top end or did the piston tilt, catch the top of the exhaust port and chuck the crank?
