Hey Im rebuilding my 86 200x and I took it all apart and put in new clutch disks and prings and got it back together.... but how tight do I tighten the bolts that go through the springs?? If its too tight it will slip... not tight enough the case wont go on.... i dont have a torque wrench either.....

I never knew the exact torque specs, but I used a small rachet and tightened them down lightly until they were all evenly tight and all 4 springs were under decent tension. I put some blue loc-tite on them just to make sure they wouldnt come loose, its still fine and I never had any problems, but im sure somone here knows the exact torque specs. You can pick up a torque wrench for cheap too.

Buy a torque wrench. 6-9 Ft/lb.

6-9 ft lbs? that seems really high.... i figured it would be inch lbs...
when tightening down the bolts they never seem to get tight at all unless I tighten them all the way in with the clutch being open/in....
It just seems liek they kinda sit there almost finger tight...

6 to 9 foot pounds is 72 to 108 inch pounds. I just did the 86 200X with a Barnett clutch and thats the torque I used.
