Hi again. I was wondering if they sell better rear shocks for the 83-85 Honda 200x's. I took mine to the track yesterday, and it bottomed really bad. It was only 1/2 of the way tight. When I got home, I tightened it up almost all the way it could go, went back to the track, and it still bottomed on one jump. When I jump, I cant land flat, and have to land on the back tires first, otherwise it bottoms. The forks seem stiff enough with the air I put in them, but the rear shock is the problem. Im 100% certain that the charge is still good in it, but maybe I need a more agressive shock? I weigh 180 lbs, am I too heavy for it? Well, let me know what you think. Thanx
I guess I could always tighten the shock up all the way, but I fear it might explode. ?

at 180lbs i would have to say you are to big for the stock shock. give works performance a call they can set you up according to your budget.

I have spoken with works perf. and they can build a custom shock tailored just for you. Problem is the cost. If I remember right, the prices are as follows (approximate): 450.00 for a basic setup(no dampning adjustment/no fluid resivor), 550.00 for one that adds (I can't remember which) damp adj. or fluid resivor, 650.00 for one that has it all.....Seems real expensive I bet the basic one is still much better than a stock unit. I have seen springs advertised on egay claiming to be "heavy weight" I also heard people claim to be able to rebuild these shocks however many people say they are not rebuildable. huh? Let me know what you find out.
