Hi, I've been beating my head in with my 200x. It will not idle correctly. Just rebuilt crank, new bearings, Wiseco 10.25.1 piston, seals, rebuilt carb, new timing chain and sprockets. Fired up pretty good. Was working on just the fine tuning. Ran and Idled great for 2 days. On the second day she died out at idle. My kickstarter lever (wasnt in the best condition) stripped out from me kicking it like hell (out where I was riding none the less). Had my buddy on his pull start me. Wouldn't idle, but runs great when giving it gas. I went through the carb twice now, Idle jet is clean and clear. Timing marks align. Getting spark (not sure if it could be stronger but orange to blue spark). Just cannot get it to idle. Can't get it to kickstart (with new kickstart lever). Can push start runs strong. Will Idle at higher than normal rpms with half choke after push starting. My intake boot is a little sketchy, I did seal it with JB weld where it started peeling away from the metal inside (it looks like its still sealed good). Any ideas? Maybe Cdi screwing up? Timing advance springs weak? Intake boot leak?

valve adjustment, intake leak, gas cap not venting, or the air/fuel mixture screw on the carb is out of adjustment

Adjusted the valve springs already. Have fuel/air mixture 2 1/4 turns out from seated position. I tried all the way in to 3 turns out. I guess I'll look better at the intake boot and maybe tear the carb down again just incase I missed something. Does anyone think it could have something to do with the Pulsar generator pickup on the cam or the cdi box itself? Thank you. I appreciate the info!!!!

i doubt it has anything to do with the ignition. try cleaning the slow jet and setting your mixture screw at 1 1/2 turns out

Well I cleaned the carb a third time. Blew it all out with compressed air. Checked the intake boot. It is solid. Looked at my spark it is weak. Hard to see. Changed the coil and the pulse generator. NO luck. Cant even get it to push start now. The stator coil tests out a 100ohms. Wonder if the magnets on the flywheel are weak. Maybe the CDI is bad. Dont think its the killswitch b/c it gets tiny spark. Plug is gapped .028

my dad had an 200s, had the about the same sytoms was the exhaust valve. It was screwed up when he re built it.

Any rust on the stator or flywheel? Try unhooking the kill switch just to rule it out

Timing is off. maybe it came loose and rotated one way or another.

Thanks for all the info guys. I checked my timing on the pulse generator, stator is clean. Flywheel marks line up (so it didn't break the key and spin). Unhooked the killswitch. Nothing. Full choke, Half choke, no choke Nothing. If i put my hand over the carb inlet It pulls vaccuum. Ive got 150 psi compression

I ebayed a new "Ricky Stator" stator and a "good usable" cdi box. So we'll see where that gets me.

I wouldn't just start throwing parts at it. Download a manual and test the electronic's.

i had the same problem look over all the wires and pull the boot back on the cdi box that was were my wires got pulled apart

Well I went through the wires. My stator tested good and I couldn't test the Cdi box cause I don't have the special tester. My cdi and stator came in from ebay. I put on the cdi i got for $6.00 and nothing spark is the same. I put on the stator and the spark got at least twice as big. Then she FIRED!!!!! Tweaked her a bit and shes idling. She also starting on the FIRST kick every time. The stator is a new "Ricky Stator" retails for 39.00 from rickystator.com The one that was on there was a cheapo $11.00 one with a cloth wrap around the windings. The new one is heavy epoxied like the oem. I think it may be better for the "wet stator" setup. Also the new one has a much larger pick up area around for magnets on the flywheel. It justs kinda baffles me the old one tested good 150 ohms. Anyways I'm gonna fine tune it with the timing light and tweak the carb tommorrow. Thanks for all the help! I'm going to do a bunch a laps around the house now!!!!!!!!!
