Check your coil when you are kicking it over. I know this isnt the most pleasant way to do it, but put a screw driver into the end of the coil(the part that attaches to the plug). Then kick it over while screw driver is in there with your hand on the driver shaft. If you get a good strong shock, then the coil is good. If it is faint or none at all, then there is an issue with it. I have seen coils that work very speratic so this could be the case. If not, then you have ruled out one possibility.

Hi, my Br has a weak spark where I'm having a plug gap down to about 12thou otherwise the spark won't jump, and the 'holding the lead' technique means you can feel the charge, but it certainly won't make you let go! My dealer said it was the stator breaking down but maybe a change of coil might be the answer.
Thanks.

Damn, learn to use punctuation. I'm glad Scott could understand ya.
Is it getting fuel all the time?

Get the manual if you don't have it and test you components. I just had a prond blem with weak spark. The stator tested good but that was the problem. When I put a new one in the size of the spark doubled. I suggest a good one not the cheapos. Rickystator.com around $40.00 for a new one. My old cheapo didn't last a year.
