hey i am kinda new to building these bikes, had several when i was younger, but they were all non suspension 200s, anyway, i came across a mint 200x fram swingarm, and front forks, i am wanting to build the ultimate 200x. i was just kind of wondering, what are the best brakes, suspension, all that stuff from all the suspension frame bikes, honda made that is, i am trying to find a 300 ex for a motor donor, i want electric start and reverse, since my wife and 1 yr old will be on it most of the time, i figured i would use the rear axle, and brakes, but i want to know what my options are even if i dont, wish i could find a 250r motor but no luck. im a 2 stroke fiend. let me know what brakes, plastics, lights, everything, is the best to use on the bike, and if anyone has put a 300 ex motor on let me know, was there much fab work for motor mounts, or did it fit rather well. also i got a guy here in town i live in with a tecate, one runs one for parts, what do you think those are worth, they are in really good shape

oh yeah its a 84 frame swingarm and forks, but i think i might go with 250 r forks, and what shocks will fit the back? and what swingarm is the best and why, i can do a lot of fab work to it, i just dont really want to, i want more boilt together stuff, but i can do it if need be

what all years of rear fenders will fit the frame, i beleive its just bolts down and has a removable seat, i just wondered my options as far as looks go, i will be ordering all new mair, but there are a few different styles, i think like 85 86 were the years ai thought looked the best but dotn remember, also some have a more contoured seat area kind of like that but i think i didnt like the fenders, anyway, let me know

Honistly, if you're going through all of the trouble to change everything. Including a 2stroke engine just get a 250r. Sounds like thats what your target is. Way better suspension, great looks, and decent access to parts. No two stroke engine is going to be drop in. Major mods are in order just to get it to fit. Not to mention exhaust, new link type rear suspension. Then the strength of the 83-85 200x frame would be questional. There are a few great builders on here that have done this type of build successfully. But..... there is so much planning, and so many obstacles to overcome you need access to great fab people and lots of creativity. It's by no means easy. They will all tell you that. Not saying it can't be done, but be very prepaired. Very few, if any parts will truly be bolt on for what you're describing.

I'd say buy a 250R as well, but on other hand i wouldn't let my wife and 1 yr old ride mine. Have you ever ridden one? That's not a putt around the yard kind of deal. Anyway if i were in your shoes i'd look towards a nice 250sx, it will cost less in the end and be a better fit for what you're looking to do with it...

the t3's are definately not what your looking for if you want your wife to ride it. especially if your going to be tooling around with a 1 yr old on your lap. thats just a bad accident waiting to happen!! the price can vary on the t3's, what year, condition of the bikes, do they run, and how well?

i would rather keep them off a two stroke, ive got a full blown 240 cc blaster completally gone through, and i dont really feel safe letting her ride that, shes like 105 lbs, and built like a fourteen year old, lol, in other words shes rather small. i was out in my storage shed the other day and was looking at my old 185s and im thinking i may build an auto 200x since id have the wiring, motor and all the stuff i need for the motor already, and i know it will just drop right in, however what about brakes, what ones are the best for these trikes? and what all fenders will fit on the back of the 84 frame, and the rear and ffrotn suspensions? what are the best, ive decided on what motor, just wondering the rest now, oh and trust me, if i ever could come across a 250r id buy it in a heart beat, like i said im a two stroke fiend, ive grew up on blasters and banshees, and decided to stick with a blaster for my trail bike because the banshee i build was a monster, either way, what gearing should i use with the sprockets? i wanna say i should run a one up tooth on front like a 12 tooth maybe?? but am unsure, what about back, and can you still get aftermarket exhaust for a 185?
