I've hooked up several kill switches to modern machines and always wire them the same way...find the wire that comes off the coil and wire one side of the kill switch into that wire; ground the other wire. This setup will kill the signal to the coil, coil won't fire, bike won't run. Works great. I don't splice the harness, I make a little Y connector and plug it in to where the wire plugs into the coil. FYI, I'm not talking about the spark plug lead wire, stay away from that wire, too much power there.
Good luck,
Chris

Finally got a chance to get back and finish the job, and it works. Thanks for the help. The instructiions had me tearing into the stator assembly to find the pulse wire instead of just saying the wire that attaches to the coil. Thanks again :beer Rich
