i bought a 84 250r today, i rode it when i bought it and then bring him to home. i try to start it with the kicker but it wouldn't start so i try to start it by pulling it and pushing it in second gear. it made a little sound and then it start, but when i started, like puttputt said "My face said "howdy" to the handlebars" and i found that i was running backward tru all 5 gear.
what's the prob, i want to ride it tomorow???

"My face said "howdy" to the handlebars"
LMFAO!!!
If it runs backwards then the magnets on the flywheel? are on backwards. Ask the main man Howdy, he can help you fix it.

u need a flywheel puller. i ran into the same problem before. all it is, is a large metric bolt that you thread into the middle and it pushes it off. Honda charged me $19 to do it, but you can buy one off of ebay for that price. I heard that you can actually use your front axle bolt, or something like that because it is the correct size and thread...i dunno give it a try.

You mean the woodruff key? That's not a good sign if it was broke, maybe somebody didn't put the flywheel on right. Make sure you do it right and tighten the nut back down to spec!

maybe it broke down because of the loosen nut, cause when i unscrew it wasn't tight alot
what are the tighten spec for this nut???

I dunno, but that's probably why it broke because it was allowed to rattle all over the place. Not your fault, but still...I'm sure somebody know's the torque specs.

torque spec is 47-54 ft-lb.
