I just finished the restore on both of these. Came out pretty good I think. They both run great but are pretty slow. They both seam to top out fairly quick, almost like a rev limiter. Is there anything that can be done to increase performance. I read somewhere that there is a piggy back style jet in the carb that I can take out to help? I have already read information on the FMF pipes and removed the restrictors on the exhasut and carb. Do I need to get a different coil or ignition?
Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

Those are nice man. I used to have a ALT 185 and it was great(until it broke down) and I have a LT125 that works but is in need of a new piston.

KLX 110 / DRZ 110 rear sprockets are the same bolt pattern.
My son's flat-traker LT was geared at 16 /33. To run that combo, you need to shave a bit off the case around the sprocket for chain clearence.
Fly cut the head up to .045 to bump the compression, and CT racing makes expansion chambers for these monsters as well. If you do get a CT, Graydon type pipe, you will need to bump the pilot 2-3 sizes. We ended up running a 57.5 main in our racer in the summer, and it got cold enough for winter flat-track we had a 65 in it one night. That thing hauled the mail. :D

here is a picture of our little LT50 flat-tracker and the ALT50 that I restored. The ALT gets ridden alot, but it is close to the time to shelf it :(

Thanks for the info. Was it much louder with the CT pipe? What are your thoughts on the FMF pipe for these? They don't have an expansion chamber. Does it need to have one to make the real power?

alot louder with the CT pipe, but the performance is well worth it. I have never run, or known anyone to run the FMF pipe. The real power in a 2 stroke comes from the pipe design (the shape and length of the expansion chamber affects the "bounceback" of unburnt / fresh air /fuel mix to pack the cylinder full and effectively burn the mixture)

here is a great view of why expansion chambers are vital to proper power
