I've been thinking about it alot and i really want to race. Theres a new track not too far from here and one of my buddys praises it all the time, i looked into it and i can race a few races of just some fun nothing major and then get into some more serious stuff depending on how i do. What would be a great quad? I know i would have to put alot of money into the suspension and what not on the kfx so i was thinking of selling that and starting off with a 450, its going to be hard for me to spend more then around $11,000 canadian, as thats my limit really i dont want to go above that and go all out. Im going to start off mainly stock, run the kfx tires and rims, i was thinking a 450 yfz, how hard are they to keep going?
the way Ive heard is that the new KTM's are near perfect right out of the box, and some said that it takes more money on another model to even get close to where the KTM is stock!

I hate to say it - but I think that Suzuki offers a hot setup stock in their 450 model. You could race it stock.

Yfz seems like a pretty solid quad to me. I know people who ran the stock bore for a couple years of hard riding without ever really maintaining them the right way. The new ktms are probably the best but there so damn expensive (atleast for me). I could deck out my yfz before I could buy a ktm. But anyway I like the mid-top end hit of the yfz more than any 450 ive rode.

depends on how serious you intend to get.hondas are easy to find, mod, and maintain.there are so many parts out there.with few mods they are powerhouses in the motor dept.
the yfz has a very flat, and stiff seat.the ergo's are not good for ME on the yfz.they are also easy to mod,and cheap to buy
the older 400's,like a kfx,or z 400 make great beginner quads.they can be bought fully race ready for super cheap.they are still competetive agains a 450 in the right hands.the z 400 i had handled great, and would pull a holeshot on the 450's.
you need to decide how seriuos you are about this.if you wanna have top notch stuff, well go buy a 08-09 bike, and build everything for you.if you are just looking to get your feet wet, build yourself an older 400,and let er rip
good luckl!

im going to suprise myself and say lt 450r
its already 50'' wide (width limit in the usa anyway) so no need for an axle and a arms right away. thats well over a grand saved in aftermarket parts right there.
