When that happens it means the kanooter valve is bad. And you need to check the blinker fluid. If it's empty the trike is toast. Sounds like it's shot. I'll give $100 cash for it right now. haha kidding.
Yeah, it sounds like a timing issue. Got any pics?

is the plug dry? have you tried to prime the cylinder with small amount of mix gas?

well i installed stator and flywheel as per the manual. new plug, and yes poured some gas strait down the plug hole and it did kickback a bit so maybe timing is off? i'll have to have someone look at the timing i guess..
Hoosier: i dont have a pic sorry, but its much like the one in the 87 brochure only with about 100hrs of recreational use on it

Is it possible the stator is 180 degree's off? Obviously you put your flywheel key in, yeah?

does it have both a ricky flywheel and stator? for some reason I was under the impression that they needed to be used together... You may have a flooded crankcase.. Have you tried pull starting it?

Crud, man. I'm stumped. At this juncture I'd start lookin at stupid things, like a clogged intake/exaust. I dunno, that's a toughy...
