Can someone identify this for me? I know its not exactly a trike but it is a older honda. Always wondered how old they were but never thought of putting a picture up. Thanks in advance!!

I have no idea what years they were made or how rare they are. I had one when I was a kid that my older brother never got running for me. I used to look at it every day and wish he would fix it, but he never did. I'd love to have one. Is there no decal on it with the date of manufacture ir a VIN?

As to the decal i honestly dont know. I never really looked at it in that great of detail. They were part of an amusement ride for many many years. I doubt they have ever had oil in them or even started. I used to work for the owner and since the ride is long since disassembled the five bikes have been sitting outside. Wonder what they might be worth? Would be a cool set of bikes to have. All the plastics are in tact. not much rust if any at all.

That's too funny! I can't beleive they'd stick those on a ride. You better make sure all the internals are there before you try to run it.

78' or 79' PD50
I've never heard of a PD50. I just googled it and came up with nothing...

i would think all the internals are there. I would take a look at it before i did anything for that matter. i cant imagine any of the internals missing. I mean its got a spark plug in it, the carb and exhaust are still there along with the brake levers, the on/off switch and twist throttle. I wonder how many cc's it is

I think it's a 50, a QA50. I recognised it as soon as I saw it. I wanted to ride mine so bad (Goddam brother). Anyhoo, if you google honda QA50 pics, they come right up. It looks just like yours. BTW, feel like parting with one?:naughty:

well i did google it and found one virtually identical to it. As to parting them out i cant. They are not mine. there are 5 of them (i figured out they are 1974)and all are in the same condition with all the plastic there. Some have a crack or two but there are 2 with perfect plastic. They are part of the amusement ride...well were. I would have to call my old boss and see if he wants to sell them. anyone know what it would take to get them to run since they have not been started in YEARS?!? I know it needs a gear shift, and kick starter. Oil, gas, carb rebuilt kit, new plug, new wire...maybe a coil?, fuel line....oh and the handle bars are frozen (maybe welded?) in a small left turn position. They have been that way since they were put on the ride.

p.s. Also since it was a ride the second set of handle bars would have to go and the peg under the engine where it mounted to the ride would have to go.

Skrew it, I'd leave the passenger stuff and take people for hellrides! J/K- Lube the cylender really good before you try to turn it over. I bet the coil is OK. Grinding off some weld shouldn't be a big deal.

You think it could support two people? Whats the top speed on these? As i mentioned there are five. If i could get him to sell them i could part it out for ya or just sell it cheap to ya. I would keep the other 4 for parts. I dont need five lol. The only problem is that i need to convince him why he should sell them to me when he will then be left with an imcomplete ride. He would prob want to sell the ride as a whole...not just parts. its even still got the on/off switch and the heat shields on the exhausts

If I remember correctly, it's got a 2 speed tranny. It's probly good for 25- 30 mph. If he wants to let 'em go, give me a shout!

i think he might want to....we just gotta come up with a reason as to why he should. I think he should just because this is the only ride that remains and its been sitting for 2 years now.

The QA50's are cool, but even smaller than the atc70. What I want to know is, what is that orange and blue piece under the tarp with the tail lights???
I have ran into this before with an abandoned carnival ride..... You ready for the bad news????? These things dont have oil in them. They will be seized solid. If i remember the story correctly, back in the day they took all of the parts that did not pass inspection for one reason or another. They built these bikes and trikes and would sell them in huge lots to some amusement ride company. They then took them and made them into amusement rides. Like carnival rides, the quarter machine rides etc etc. I have also heard that the manufacture did something to them so they wouldnt run, but this has never been verified. Maybe you have gotten lucky and the first purchaser of the ride did this but unlikely.
The ride i got a hold of had 5 - xr50's. I only messed with one of them. It took a sledge hammer to get the cylinder off. Then with it off the lower end was not budging. I put it back together and sold the whole ride to a collector.
if he does deside to part with this, i would be intrested has a piece for my game room.
Another thing i want to ad whilethinking about it. These should not have any VIN or ID tag on them. Also they will probly not be complete. They just wanted them to be visually complete. If they didnt have a imperfect valve handy they simply didnt put one in.

definitely not a minitrail.
it would say MINITRAIL on the tank, and im pretty sure the minitrails have narrower tires.
