WEB cam needs more than advertised

I ordered my cam about 2.5 weeks ago and the springs thay were recommended. We had talked to web prior to ordering and they stated that i had to send the rockers in. they had to harden and redo the pads or they would go flat due to the cam being harder than the pads and grinding the pads down. So in the end the total cost was $265+shipping for cam, rockers redone, and springs.

OUCH! anyway, keep this in mind when doing performance cams, the vendors are wanting to ensure it stays running so you need to ask them what they recommend. they do not state the rocker pad issue anywhere so unless you call one would never know.

most site's that i've looked at have a note that say's spring's and hardened rockers recommended

i have seen rockers worn past flat and its not pretty......hardend rockers are worth the money

in the racing circle its well known that they are needed......its just a given to me

ahh, see i didn't know as i'm reletativly new to any sort of performacne to trikes. BUT I'm learning very fast. so i'm nipping at your expert heals! :P

yea it was like $120 for the rockers to get done, but at least it will last now.
so i'll have the head assembly back by the weekend and I can start assembly of my motor! I'm going to stuff the eprformance piston and head on the 200E as boring a 185 (63mm) to 65mm (0.080 over) makes it now a 200 anyway. It has 10.58:1 comp is what is estimated and new valves, and hood cam, so it sahould be a decent ride for the 200E. the 185 is going to be a while. :/

The hardfaced rockers are a must, BUT the springs arnt. It takes more rpm's than what the 350x can get to to float a valve with the stock springs. I have used each of webs cams they make never done valve springs and have never had a problem. If your springs are out of spec then you need to get them. Im going on 7 years now on the meanest cam with no springs, and all that bike sees is WOT. I belive they say that to cover there ass
