No spark.

What's the likely hood the stator took a crap? I tried a different known good igntion/p-wire/plug and no sprak. I have no other cdi to test with. By passed the kill switch. Checked wiring. Cleaned all grounds and connections I could find. Which usually goes bad first? CDI or Stator? What are some symptoms of a bad pulse generator?

Stators are usually pretty solid, in my experience the CDI normally die first, it can get a small crack and start letting humidity in that kills it but even then they usually last a looooonnnnggg time. Check the output of the stator with a voltmeter, that will at least tell you if it's putting anything out.

I was riding my 85 Tecate one day, got about 10 miles from the truck and it shut off. I thought it was the plug so I changed it and it started up and ran for about 3 minutes and died again. it got worse and worse until it would only run for about 30 seconds to a minute, die out, wait 2 minutes and start it again. Turned out to be the stator-
