I craigs listed my Banshee for sale or trade and got a response from a guy that has a Raptor 660R. The reason I want to get rid of the Banshee is because I built it for my 16 year old son and he is not grasping the whole 2 stroke thang. I checked the Bluebook values of both machines and they are whithin $100 of value with the Banshee being a little higher.

* What is the general concensous of this trade?
* In oppinion, would the Raptor be a better machine for a newb rider?
* Any know issues with the 660 that I should look for?
* I have a line on a 09 KFX 450R in the spring should I wait?

The 01's had tranny problems. I think from riding my buddies 05 they are a little tipsy in my opinion. If we are going up hills his 05 tends to wheelie alot, I don't know if it's him or the quad. I use to own a Banshee and in my opinion it felt way more stable than the Raptor. Other than that, he's still on the original piston and we put our quads through some tough stuff and beat the hell out of them. Other than the trannies i don't think their was ever any real issues with them. I would just stay away from the 01's.

well...the shee is way faster, but the 660 is more user friendly.
i would go with the 660 instead of the 450 simply because the motors are pretty solid and dont need constant maintenance.

but go over the 660 well, cause if it has a few problems, more are sure to arise fast.

Raptor has power on demand. They eat up hills.

Well I drive 2 hours to the guy's house because he had to work today and he turns into a "SQUIRREL" right there in front of me. He takes the Banshee for a ride around the yard and does not even get it fully warmed up and comes back all excited about the deal. Then the "BOSS" shows up. He did not mention to the wife that his plans are to trade his Raptor for my Banshee. She takes him off to the side and he comes back with a totally different attitude. To add insult to it all he make a bunch of lame reasons like the clutch is harder to pull than his Raptor, and every now and then he takes his son for rides around the yard and I am affraid he will get burnt on the pipes. He then shakes my hand and leaves me standing in his driveway with the "WHAT THE HELL JUST HAPPENED HERE FEELING" While I load up and leave. I sent him like 50 pictures of the machine and told him all the ins and outs of the machine. I figured that if I emphasized the bad then he could bolt on the deal before I make the 2 hour trip. I guess I should know better by now how stupid peeps can be. I will say that his Raptor was in much better cosmetic condition than my Banshee but there again I wished he would have taken a better look at all the pictures I sent him before he waisted 5 hours of my day.
