I run nothing but Honda GN4 10W-40 4 stroke cycle oil in my 200s and 250sx year round.
Had the 200s for several years now and still on the orig motor with no noticable oil usage.
Taking the same approach with the sx.

No need for gear lube because the engine and trans are circulating the same oil.

Chain lube - I use PJ1 0 ring chain lube on the 200s and have had great life from chain and sprockets. Hope this helps

P.S. I've been told from many cycle mechanics that average automotive oils don't stand up as well to the heat generated from a cycle engine and trans. Cycle oil is more expensive but I think there is some truth to this view!

I use only the best, top secret Miltary Jack off/Gun lube.....wait, oops.....I've got the wrong one. Sorry bout that!!!!

(on a more serious note, I use Valvoline 10w30 in my Tri-Z and it works just fine.)

Oh yea...I also heard that Quaker State 4x4 works good too. Its made specially for heat that they make while rock crawling and other stuff.

Amsoil 0-40 motorcycle style. Full synthetic that's safe for wet clutches. If you use the Amsoil filter you can practice extended drain intervals (once per year instead of every month). That's how I run in the SX. It's kinda expensive up front (6.15 a quart, and like 10 for the filter) but for the extended drain you get your monies back and then some.

I agree with Arkantrike on this one, I like the honda oil and I am a believer in the PJ1. Have had 3 yamaha R6's and that's all I used on the chains and it seemed to do the job then. You guys know how it is, I am sure most of you guys are dedicated to one brand, usually whatever you have been using the longest. Like my Pop's all he believes in is Castrol. He want use anything else, and since he used it all the time now I am it that same mindset and want use anything else in my vehicles.
