Me and my father have been looking around for a decent dual purpose, sizewise, id like a 400. ive been looking at some DRZ's, WR's and KLR's. So far, i like the wr and drz the most, partially because of the price tags. im lookoing for soemthing around the pricerange of 2000. How dependable are these bikes? very smooth riding on pavement/dirt? About how fast do they go? Any recomendations?

well, our 87 klr250 does great all around, a little heavy for my tastes, but a great bike.

I love my new KLR. I have put 2500 miles on it in 3 months. Not sure about durability though. Mines going to the shop Saturday. I have a bad knocking/rattling at 5800 RPMS. The guys on the Kawasaki forums all seem to thing I have a toasted valve or a shim cam out. Here are the pics:

that is one sharp looking bike!
i have a xr650l it is as reliable as the red brick...LOL
that drz is a great bike. i cant comment on the ride quality but the moter is tried and true.
