Primitive ATV riding and camping
As promised we are getting back with all of you who have contacted us through Craig’s List. Also as promised we will open our 125 acres up for you to ride starting with weekends only this Saturday August 16th at 8:00 am. If you want to ride come to 1087 Ulster Heights, Ellenville, NY 12428 the address is for those of you who use Map Quest or Goggle to get maps.
The property is five miles west of Ellenville on Ulster Heights Road on the left hand side of the road look for a sign that says Welcome ATV Friends. Come to Ellenville and head west on Canal Street taking the third right hand turn on Cape Avenue after Wilson’s Deli as you leave the Village of Ellenville on Cape that road turns into Ulster Heights Road outside the village. Our property is five miles up that same road on the left side you will see a building and our sign.
Please remember this opportunity is a new one we had two men ride their 2 wheel drive ATV’s tonight for the first time and the trails are rough tree down from wind and logging. We will be working to clear the trails as we grow so this is rough riding. If you choose to come and bring a chain saw we will knock $10 off the $35 a day fee. If we don’t make revenue we can’t build more trails. So we are giving a discount to those willing to help. We are also bringing in machines to start clearing as well as doing the bull work by hand to open trails up. Below is regular pricing the ride here is and will remain ride at your own risk and you will be required to sign a wavier stating so.
Here are some basics for riding, remember those who bring a chain saw will be given $10 off their daily ride cost.
The property is open 8 am August 16th and 10 am Sunday August 17th 2008 for it’s first weekend and will be open to ATV’s every weekend from here on out. All riders will have to sign a waiver of Ride at your own risk, all machines must be registered and insured you will have to show proof and we will register all information. Ride from opening until dusk all riders must be out by dusk. We will have a map for you so you understand our property boundaries and wetlands boundaries, which may not be ridden per NYS, there are very little DEC Wet Lands on the property and it is marked. We will be adding more signage as we go. This includes rocks and other dangerous hazards this property is just about virgin so there are natural hazards of rocks and trees it is very rough for two wheelers.
Our pricing is as follows, $35 a day opening until dusk, Children 14 years old and under are $20 and must be with guardian / adult. No minors under 18 years old without an accompanying adult with them will be allowed. Group rates are very simple it’s $35 for the first rider; second adult is $25 and so on for all adults in the group children are $20 each. Camping is $10 per night per tent or camper there are no facilities so be prepared as there is no electric, no toilets, this is rough riding and rough camping. We will not tolerate breaking of any rules, period caught and the offender is gone. We expect to have families here with children and just in general good taste please watch your language around others. There will be no overly loud exhausts allowed if you don’t have an exhaust don’t bring the machine you can’t ride here. We do know these machines make noise but if you have a registered legal machine you have an exhaust and all will be ok. No drugs or alcohol will be tolerated if your caught your gone for good. We ask you respect other riders and our neighbor’s property. If you’re camping quiet hours will be enforced after 10 pm keep it down and after dark no machines should be running at all.
We thank you for your interest in our new park we want it to grow to give ATV people a place to ride. With your help this can be a positive adventure for all concerned.
Thank you,
Michael & Karen Walkerwicz
