Ok so on dratv they sell a cdi (http://dratv.com/cdiunatseeap.html)that is the square type connector. They say it will work with more newer models with the use of the male connector. Ok so I have a few hondas that have CDI's that work but their connectors are all square excpet for the 200s which is round. So correct me if I am wrong. The cdi they list is from 80 - 83 with a square connector for honda. 84 is round. So if I buy that connector they sell I could use a cdi from any other model atc with a cdi from 80 - 83 on the 84? Does this mean those years CDI are all the same except for the connector? If that's the case does it matter about engine size or is the voltage not a factor between bikes?
thanks.

i asked the same question to a friend that raced an older 250r (84) and he told me that you can swap some cdi's as long as you have the same type of wiring? what that means i do not know. i will try and ask him again to clerify this for me.

Well I think he is refering to the cdi connector. On the 85 110 I have the wiring harness looks the same except for the connector. As long as you line pins up correctly then why would it not work?

i talked to my friend again. he said he had a list of cdi's that will fit others. but need to make your own connector. he uses just the weather pack connectors. i looked at his and he has almost all of his 3wheelers and 4 wheelers wired with weather pack connectors. i guess if it works for him.
