my cousin is gunna take my cdi coil to be tested but i need to know how many ohms a 1985 tecate cdi coil has

I dont think you can test the cdi box.. besides swapping with one known to be good... you can test ignition and stator coils

CDI's have a nasty habit of reading within spec and not working, and also giving off readings that should indicate that they are shagged but work fine. static OHM readings aren't the most reliable measures of these things.

I would get your coil and stator run up on a bench if you can.

any of you guys have a extra cdi for a tecate and do you know if a 1983 is interchangable with other years??

There were no Tacates in 83 but you may be able to use a KX cdi. Some of these guys could prolly answer that one.
