i picked up this bike even trade for something i didnt want anymore but the guy told me it had a timing issue. Can someone tell me or send a picture of the timing marks for this bike. Im just not sure what marks to use, there are 4 marks in the left side cover of the bike and the mark on the cam gear. What mark do i use there is one with an "F" and one with a "T" then 2 unmarked, and is the cam mark supposed to be up or down or sideways or what, please help.

Most Honda's use the "T" mark for the cam alignment. I'm not sure about an XR250 myself, but other Honda's I've worked on went like this...."O" mark on the cam sprocket straight up, and "T" mark visible through the little opening. The "F" mark is for setting the ignition timing. Since I'm not familiar with the XR250 I can't tell you exactly how it goes with the "F" mark, but on other Honda's you set the ignition advancer with the "F" mark. Hopefully someone else will chime in here. Best thing to do when getting any new bike or atv is to get a service manual. Hope this helps.

I have the workshop manual for XR/XL 250/500, I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know. Try Dammit! , maybe he's got a manual that you can download.
