which is the top ring and which is the bottom ring, in the manual it says the one with the slant edge is the bottom one, but the rings i have looks like there flat, the only difference is one is a soild black ring and the other is a black ring with a rounded edge and a lil siliver ring on the end.

the rings are marked r and rn, i think the top rigs is r and the second is rn, , the black soild one is marked r, and the second one is a white stripe at the end and the edge is rounded a lil, verry litte. these rings came directly from the honda store.

marks face up and normaly the shiny ring is the top one.

i guess you should of paid more attention when tearing the motor apart....alway keep the old parts as they are till you are ready.
then you would have something to look at to help you.

kind of hard job to notice the rings because they looks the same on the piston both are silver, if they looked different i would of placed the new ones in the same pisition. Don't jump the gun sometimes and think people are dumb. Maybe there is a reason Why they ask questions.

dont forget to get the proper ring gap. and the gap for the top and bottom ring are different, so make sure you get it right or you could lock up the motor.

Call a Honda dealer and ask someone in the service dept. They should be able to help you out. I cant tell from the pics.
