pretty cool actually. could see that on the back of a 4x4 quad. but what about getting wet, like river crossings, snow, rainy weather, etc?

I was thinking of telling you that you were crazy, until I saw the box. That is pretty cool. On the rare occasions I take music with my on my triek, use my ipod, but that would be nice when you're going somewhere and you want to hang out and listen to some tunes.

I tried it once on a old quad I had. It was a long night of beverages and thought hey lets put a radio on the quad lol. I got a clock radio and duct taped it to the fender. It actually stayed on for a good while.

I bought that blue CD/jam box from Walmart for around 30$. The reason I got it, was it seemed to be sealed pretty good for moisture and it had a LINE IN area. So the last ride I rode in MS, I put the Jambox on the handle bars area and added my MP3 player on it. I zipped tied the player near the thumb throttle, so I could toggle thru the songs I wanted. Just ask everyone that was on the ride, we were blasting some cool 80's hairbands baby!:w00t:

some links that sells them,

i think they are made with water-proof speakers and a domed cd/radio/mp3 player.

check out them sites.

I don't care if those speakers are marine grade...they will fail. most "waterproof" speakers are not...they are water resistant for a time, and then they fail.

your best bet would be a true underwater system, but those are typically used to project sound underwater, and would be way too bulky for most apps.

rhino's have radio's...but the speakers fail after about a year. your best bet is to buy the cheapest speakers you can at walmart, prolly run you about 10 bucks..called roadmaster, they'll last a year, and when you replace them you won't be kicking yourself.

You could do an icechest radio with everything mounted inside the chest and sealed...the sound would still carry through, only it would be slightly muffled.

Ya we have to replace our outdoor patio speakers all the time and the ones on our boat are marine speakers and only last so long. I cant see that setup living too long on any bike I am piloting but it is really neat. C'mon by get a louder exhaust and forget about the music.
