well i have finally got my 84 250r running:naughty: . it has taken some time (and some more money than i would have liked), but man this thing flies!!!!!!!!!!

i still have some body work to be done. the guy who owned it before me bolted an l channel of metal to the rear fender and drilled like 6 holes. so i will just do some fender trimming. plus the rear grab bar was like in pieces.

i got this thing in a box basically about 4 months ago or so. engine has been redone completely. carb forks, swing arm etc.

now for the things that still need done.
1) waiting for my chain guide from australia
2) rebuild and unstick the front caliper so it doesn't bend the rotor any further
3) figure out why the trans doesn't like going into 2nd, i have to hold up on the shifter until i get back on the throttle for it to stay in gear.
4) get the lights working (probably the other coil, i replaced the ignition sside of the stator already)
5) redo the plastics totally.

then i am done!!!!!!!! yeah right. heck my wife is already sick of me working on it. i guess it doesn't help that we are having a baby soon and i am in the garage all of the time.

but tommorrow, will be the first time taking it out of 3rd gear. wish me luck.!!!!!!!

i forgot to add that i am going to do some stickers on the rear like the tri-z's have. i think that looks good.

also i would like to say thanks to all you guys on here for helping me. especially 1upfront, he is the air fooler man, for sure.

after this is all done, i am going to try and find a 250r four wheeler to build up. then i will be complete!!!!!!!!

I like that a lot. I'm somewhat keeping my eye out for another air cooled R. I would want it about exactly like yours except I'd put 20 inch tires on back and look for a pipe. I always thought it would be cool to have 250R stensiled on the side of an air cooled R's seat kinda like a 1985 but I don't think there is quite enough room.

well to give a little update. i got it through all the gears yesterday. it doesn't really like anything ecxpet first gear. so i have some more work to do.

as far as power. the bottom end pulls like a horse, but middle and top are flat. any carb guys have any idea?

i did a plug chop and the plug is tan to darker brown, so it seems to be running properly, but like i said that middle and top end are kind of flat. any help would be great.

thanks
