I just got my KLT back together from the best parts of 2 bikes. I think I might have a slipping issue of sorts? The engine sounds much better than the original, but it sounds and feels like it has to wind up to move. Would a set of new clutch plates fix this? I've messed with the adjustment, but I'm not sure I understand whats its doing in there.
The manual says to loosen the locknut, turn clockwise till it stops, then
counterclockwise till it stops, then tighten the locknut. Maybe they are past the point of adjustment.
I just changed the oil in the the transmission and the final drive and it didnt seem to make a difference. Any other possible causes of this? I was excited to take it out this weekend, but it doesnt get out of its own way. If it means anything, reverse seems to work the best. Thanks for your input.
