Anybody else here watch the UFC? Catch the pay per view last night? See the mach between Lidell and Evans? What a shocker  Evans won by TKO in the second round, caught Chuck with one of his own style punches, and he went down like John Denver  It made for a good fight but I wish Lidell would have won, I don't care for Evans. Dancing around the ring and acting a fool

chuck has lost 3 of his last 4. i think its the end of a glorious career for lidell. hes just lost his game. he lost the same way to "rampage" jackson. trying to throw an uppercut and got rocked.

Chuck is a definite legend. Although his near 40 body can't compete with the new MMA kids. Evans is a local boy from Niagara Falls, NY great to see him exceling in UFC!

I'm sorry but I have to disagree about chuck being a legend...
chuck was babied...
pound for pound bj penn is the best pro fighter...after that, you have to look to anderson silva. george st. pierre is a fluke...he's an athlete, but he's not a good fighter. forrest griffin has more potential than any other fighter currently...though I don't feel he won the fight against rampage.
Personally, I think when rich gets back into his element, he's gonna be a force to be reckoned with.

Goat I'm talking all time up til now. No doubt the newbie mma kids are no joke. There is some amazing talent. Chuck can fight. You can't argue that. But the mainstream UFC just isn't what it once was. In the days of Gracie, Abbot, Severn etc. those are the days I miss man.
I am watching it on Spike rite now.

It was always good to watch the first few years of UFC when the rules were different.

and then gracie got taught a lesson by hughes...abbot can't win a fight to save his life...it just gets more and more sad.
randy was the only one to stick around. did anyone watch fedor and sylvia? so sad...so sad.
though tank did send like 98% of his opponents to the hospital, win or lose.

Come on goat. All of those guys are beyond prime now of course there going to get there ass handed to them. They aren't 25 anymore.

what about randy? lol. If at any point in my life, I can be in half the shape that he is right now...I'll jump for joy.
I always liked tank, because he was a brawler. He had no technique, no style, he just went out there and threw everything he had at the other fighter. 9 times out of 10 that resulted in a knockout. and he really did send all but I think one of his opponents to the hospital after the fight. his work out was simple, strong legs, strong core, a lot of benching, and no cardio. to be honest he didn't really need it...his fights never lasted that long anyways. But that certainly cuts his longevity down. lol.
Orlovski remains the fastest big guy I have ever seen, EVER...but he can't fight worth a damn.
cheik congo has a lot of potential as a fighter, freakishly strong, hyper intelligent, great standup, but a crappy ground game. like tito, he just can't finish fights.
but chuck...chuck beat randy, tito, and silva...his other victories don't mean much. jeremy horn crushed him when he was in his prime. the problem with chuck is that he will never be respected by the martial arts community. why? Because looking at his fight record, they built him up into a poster boy. tito was a better poster boy when it had that rugged underground hype going for it.
once it truly got sucked into the mainstream, dana white needed someone else...randy coutoure was too old, so he went with chuck. chuck fought utter nobodies from 2004 until may 2007. he fought guys who he fought when he started his career. He fought guys who were getting older and about to retire.
the only risk he ever had to take was fighting jeremy horn again. That fight was simply used to build up hype right after chuck had gotten three knockouts in a row. "oh no, it's jeremy horn, he's someone who beat chuck back in the day." truth be told, horn would have killed chuck in that fight if chuck hadn't gotten a lucky cut which blinded horn.
Jason horn is a guy who just loves to fight, the guy has over 100 fights for a reason.
so bam, chuck fights sobrai...an overrated nobody...and then two of the guys, who he just knocked out. coutoure and ortiz.
poster boy or not, chuck had to get a real opponent, so he got rampage thrown at him. rampage said it best before the fight "I'mma whoop chucks ass." bad part was, anyone who thought about the matchup beforehand, knew he was right.
so chuck fights silva, and wins. Why? because silva's training was very disrupted with his move to the u.s. chuck fights silva right now, this second, he doesn't stand a chance in hell. Silva got a 36 second knockout his next fight against a seasoned fighter, jardine.
watch ufc 91...you'll see a few real mean fight. coutoure is going to crush lesnar, honestly he might hurt the poor boy. lesnar has the retard strength, but he's got nothing else. randy will either ko, or put him up against the fence and work him over with his dirty boxing...just like he did to gonzaga.
silva will be fighting rampage...he's 2-0 against him, and I think he'll be going 3 and 0. I would say a knockout, but I have the feeling it may go to a decision just because of a matter of wills.
ken flo will win his fight, probably from his back. I like jo daddy, but I just don't see him winning this fight yet. given another two years, I think he'll improve. they're building ken flo up to fight bj penn, slowly but surely. he's nowhere close enough yet.
stephens will also win, he's a good ol' boy from iowa who's pretty much guaranteed to crush his opponent. He's only 22 and has already held two 155 pound belts...and he's fighting, you guessed it, a brazillian nobody. considering he just lost to spencer fisher, he knows this fight will probably make or break his career in the ufc. that's life.
sorry that was longwinded or preachy, but I hate chuck liddell as a posterboy. and...fedor still declines to fight coutoure...and fedor is one bad bad man. he just doesn't want to take a chance of getting crushed by a guy 15 years older than him.

Goat, I love you man. I have to agree, once your disertation was over with I was indeed a believer. Still appreciate Chuck no doubt. I agree with most of what you said for sure. I do believe Randy would lay waste to Fedor as well. Its been so hyped. Since you hate hype and retard strength powered gorillas then you cant wait til oct. for Kimbo vs Shamrock on national television right. LMAO clowns i tell ya! Amen Goat. I'd love to come to louisiana for some killer food and UFC at your place man! Rip on some trikes too.

yeah I did do a bit of a dissertation... I was gonna go finally tune that new carb today on the 350x, and when I woke up, we're still catching fringe nonsense from ike. So I've been trapped inside.
as for this next ufc...my money actually will be on the retard strength. it certainly won't last that long.
now don't get me wrong, I don't hate chuck...I hate chuck as a posterboy. when someone gets built into something that they aren't...it pisses me right off.
hell, I like matt hughes simply because he's too cocky for his own good.
