I just picked up this tri-z for a little less than $100. The piston skirt broke. As you can see it is in peices right now. I am toying with the idea of putting it on the road again.

I have done some searching here and it has been said a yz400 will fit. There is a full bike (air cooled) right up the road for 300 that runs great. Or my other affordable option is a yz250 82 full bike for $400. Or I can take the tri-z motor in and see how much to fix that.

What are your guys opinions?

I would try to fix the TRI Z motor, maybe check for a used one on ebay, I'm not sure how much they go for. I had a TRI-Z with a YZ465 motor. All the mounts lined up but one top mount had to be cut off the frame. It had a massive extended swing arm, wheelie bar, and a bar in place of the shock. That thing was slow and gay and got smoked by my cousins 426EX. I sold it on ebay for like $400.
